Kinesiology of the Hip: A Focus on Muscular Actions .
PRIMARY HIP FLEXORS
- ILIOPSOAS – PSOAS MAJOR & ILIACUS
ASSISTING DEPENDING ON POSITION OF HIP AT THE TIME AT WHICH MOVEMENT IS INITIATED
- RECTUS FEMORIS: most powerful when the knee is flexed, whereas significant power is lost when the knee is extended – see QUADRICEPS .
- SARTORIUS: Also assists in Femur External/Lateral Rotation; Femur Ab·duction; Knee Internal Rotation when Knee is Flexed
- TFL – TENSOR FASCIA LATA
- PECTINEUS
- ADDUCTOR BREVIS | ADDUCTOR LONGUS
- GRACILIS
- ANTERIOR FIBERS OF GLUTE MEDIUS & MINIMUS
